Basketball Recap: Jonas Ferguson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Lauderdale over Saint Andrew's

Fort Lauderdale lost against Saint Andrew back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Flying L's took a hard 78-63 fall against the Scots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), the Flying L's still had to take the loss.

Fort Lauderdale's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonas Ferguson, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Adler Olweean, who shot 43% from the field en route to 17 points.

Saint Andrew's had a senior duo take command as Xander Gerard went 13-for-18 to rack up 30 points and Lukas Buinevicius dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Errico, who posted five points.

Fort Lauderdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Saint Andrew's, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Fort Lauderdale has already played their next contest, a 58-46 victory against Central on the 22nd. As for Saint Andrew's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-65 loss against St. Thomas Aquinas on the 24th.
