Mitchell proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cypress Creek Coyotes, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on eight straight.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Mitchell who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-17, 19-25, 25-16, 11-25, 15-9.

Mitchell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Unger led the charge by getting 20 digs and two aces. What's more, Unger posted four assists, the most she's had over her last eight matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hatzistefanou, who had seven digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Mitchell was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive contests.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Cypress Creek, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Lecanto on the 25th. As for Cypress Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Pasco on the 25th.
