Volleyball Recap: Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Triumphs

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] won the last time they faced Boyd County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bobcats walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Spartans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

While Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22.

Kaylee Thiele had a dynamite game, getting 20 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three). Kanyon Allemang also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Claire Reiman and Kyla McCarthy certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Reiman had 14 digs and one assist, while McCarthy had 12 digs. McCarthy has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Boyd County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against North Central on the 2nd. As for Boyd County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Niobrara/Verdigre on the 30th.
