Softball Recap: Cypress Bay Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hialeah Gardens

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cypress Bay had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hialeah Gardens Gladiators a 19-0 shutout. The Lightning's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Allena Dinneen was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jenna Doobrow, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and three runs.

Cypress Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cypress Bay's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Hialeah Gardens, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Coming up, Cypress Bay will face off against West Broward at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Lightning's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Hialeah Gardens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
