First Presbyterian Day triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Jakhari Williams

Recap: First Presbyterian Day Vikings vs. Brookstone Cougars

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the First Presbyterian Day Vikings had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 44-24 margin over the Cougars. The victory was nothing new for First Presbyterian Day as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jakhari Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Williams was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Spillers, who picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Defeat or not, Brookstone got some senior leadership from Lane Cannon who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown and Chris Vickerson who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.

First Presbyterian Day is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. As for Brookstone, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

First Presbyterian Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brookstone also has no future games currently scheduled.
