Basketball Recap: Ferguson Comes Up Short

Ferguson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks, falling 77-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered since December 13, 2024.

Leading Archbishop McCarthy to victory were Andrew Sanchez and Richard Segovia. Sanchez went 11 for 15 on his way to 19 points and eight assists, while Segovia went 10 of 20 on his way to 22 points. Those eight assists gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Johnson, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Ferguson's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Archbishop McCarthy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7.

Ferguson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-67 defeat against Schoolhouse Prep on the 4th. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-55 victory against Monsignor McClancy on the 4th.
