Preview: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Edgewood Warriors
The Harvey Red Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Edgewood Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Harvey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Harvey suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 77-51 loss at the hands of Madison. Harvey just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Deontae Ware, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Johnson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Edgewood scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Conneaut, posting a 84-44 victory on the road. Given Edgewood's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Conneaut is ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Harvey now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Edgewood, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Harvey came up short against Edgewood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 61-55. Can Harvey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
