Softball Game Preview: Henrico Warriors vs. Mechanicsville Mustangs

Henrico is 0-10 against Mechanicsville since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Henrico's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.

23 must be Henrico's lucky number: they beat John Marshall with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Warriors beat the Justices by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 23-15. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mechanicsville's offense. They lost 10-0 to Hanover on Friday.

Mechanicsville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Henrico's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.3 runs over those games. As for Mechanicsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
