Volleyball Game Preview: Patterson Mill Huskies vs. Clear Spring Blazers

The Patterson Mill Huskies will challenge the Clear Spring Blazers on Saturday. Patterson Mill is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Patterson Mill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Clear Spring faced South Carroll in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Blazers blew past the Cavaliers 3-0.

Patterson Mill better focus on containing Malea Shingleton and Callie Hose as the pair were huge in Clear Spring's win. Shingleton had 35 assists and eight digs, while Hose had 17 digs and three assists. Shingleton has been hot, having posted 26 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Clear Spring was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive matches.

Patterson Mill's record now sits at 17-3-2. As for Clear Spring, their record is now 15-6.

Patterson Mill suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Clear Spring in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
