Football Recap: Noah Ferrel and Julian Calderon Pace Kennedy Defense

Kennedy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 31-6 to the Buchanan Bears. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 34-20 to the Bears when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kennedy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Noah Ferrel and Julian Calderon.

Buchanan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tommy Devany, who threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Carvel Wafer helped Devany out on the ground, picking up 59 receiving yards and one score.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Buchanan, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will challenge Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buchanan, they will head out on the road to face off against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
