Basketball Game Preview: Parkway Christian Eagles vs. Dryden Cardinals

The Parkway Christian Eagles will take on the Dryden Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Parkway Christian came up short against Whitmore Lake and fell 46-36. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Parkway Christian had strong showings from Angelina Marchesi, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 boards, and Tamerah Peterson, who posted 17 points and five steals. Peterson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 37 times she's played. Kelsey Smith was another key player, putting up four points.

Even though they lost, Parkway Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 26 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Dryden played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 51-22 loss at the hands of St. Charles. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-9.

Dryden's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Parkway Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
