Soccer Game Preview: Argyle vs. Colleyville Heritage

The Argyle Eagles will face off against the Colleyville Heritage Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few goals on average, (Argyle: 0.5, Colleyville Heritage: 0.2) so any goals scored will be well earned.

Argyle's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Grapevine by a score of 2-0. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Colleyville Heritage waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 5-0 win. Give the Panthers' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

They hit Grapevine with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ashlyn Bringedahl (2), Alexa Munguia, Addison Shimmick, and Camille Seeley.

Colleyville Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Argyle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1-1.

Argyle might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Colleyville Heritage when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Argyle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
