Basketball Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

Fairview was the 56-35 winner over Sycamore when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fairview Yellowjackets took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sycamore War Eagles on Friday.

Sycamore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lucas Morris out in front who went 7 for 9 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Wallace, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and six boards.

Fairview has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Sycamore, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will host Creek Wood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Sycamore, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. Sycamore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
