Deep Run hasn't had much luck against Godwin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Deep Run challenged J.R. Tucker on Friday. The Wildcats never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.
Evan Arsenault looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Deep Run is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Griffin Willis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Bryson Jones was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
22 must be Godwin's lucky number: they beat Hermitage with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Eagles beat the Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 22-3. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
Eli Macturk was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Babcock, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.
Godwin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Deep Run's record now sits at 8-6. As for Godwin, their record is now 14-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Deep Run hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Godwin struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Deep Run couldn't quite get it done against Godwin when the teams last played back in March as they fell 11-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
