Porter-Gaud and First Baptist School are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cyclones are taking a road trip to challenge the Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Porter-Gaud has three straight wins, First Baptist School has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Porter-Gaud beat Northwood Academy 9-5.

Brooklyn Ellis was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dylan Brinker was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Porter-Gaud always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood Academy only posted an OBP of .323.

Meanwhile, First Baptist School came up short against Pinewood Prep on Thursday and fell 7-2.

First Baptist School's loss dropped their record down to 12-6-1. As for Porter-Gaud, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Porter-Gaud was able to grind out a solid win over First Baptist School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 12-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cyclones since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
