Volleyball Recap: Alexa Chavez Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Roswell

Mayfield's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Roswell Coyotes by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The final score came out to 25-17, 22-25, 25-10, 25-12.

Mayfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexa Chavez, who had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave Chavez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isobella Munker, who had six kills, three digs, and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Mayfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Mayfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Roswell, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mayfield will welcome Deming at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roswell, they are taking a road trip to take on Alamogordo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
