Softball Game Preview: Collins Titans vs. Trimble County Raiders

For the second straight game, Collins will face off against Trimble County. The Titans will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Raiders at 12:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Collins has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Trimble County will arrive with three straight victories.

Collins fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Trimble County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.

For Trimble County's part, Hannah Chilton spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. Chilton has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alyssa Ritchie was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Trimble County's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Collins, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
