Volleyball Recap: Heritage Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Front Range Christian on Thursday, Heritage Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Sedgwick County Cougars on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Heritage Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Sedgwick County work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 20-25, 25-9, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Heritage Christian still got an impressive performance from Abby Leveillee, who had 15 digs and two assists. Leveillee has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Sedgwick County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Heritage Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Flatirons Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sedgwick County, they will head out on the road to face off against Haxtun at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
