Softball Recap: Manteo Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Manteo won against Currituck County last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Manteo came out on top against the Northside - Pinetown Panthers by a score of 10-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Redskins, who have now won three matches in a row.

Makenna Gray looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Dickerson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Peedee Berry was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Manteo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Manteo's record now sits at 8-3. As for Northside - Pinetown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Manteo has already played their next contest, a 10-9 loss against Currituck County on the 28th. As for Northside - Pinetown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-6 defeat against Pamlico County on the 28th.
