Football Recap: Vanden Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jamarkus Banks and Pherone Oates + How To Watch

Vanden was the 23-7 winner over Campolindo when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 16-13 on Friday. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Vanden's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Pherone Oates, who rushed for 64 yards and one score, and Jamarkus Banks, who rushed for 45 yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Vanden fell to 3-1. As for Campolindo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Vanden and Campolindo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 138th) will meet Rodriguez (ranked 287th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Campolindo will face off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (97 vs. 340).
