Baseball Recap: Lansdale Catholic's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lansdale Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Nick Wilkin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Wilkin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Holdsworth, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Those two hits gave Holdsworth a new career-high.

Lansdale Catholic's record now sits at 5-15. As for Bethlehem Catholic, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17-1.

As of now, neither Lansdale Catholic nor the Golden Hawks have any future games scheduled.
