Baseball Game Preview: Orchard Park Quakers vs. Williamsville North Spartans

For the second straight game, Orchard Park will face off against Williamsville North. The Quakers will head out to square off against the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Orchard Park has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Orchard Park nor Williamsville North made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Quakers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2.

For Williamsville North's part, Nick Cutrona tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Cutrona has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Caleb Okulewicz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Williamsville North, bringing their record up to 11-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Orchard Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
