Soccer Game Preview: Flushing vs. Lapeer

The Flushing Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Lapeer Lightning on Wednesday.

Flushing is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bay City Western on Thursday. The Raiders fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. Flushing have struggled against Bay City Western recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Lapeer made sure to put some goals up on the board against Linden on Friday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Lapeer's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Lapeer is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight matchups. As for Flushing, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-2.
