Preview: Providence Christian Academy LIONS vs. Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars
The Providence Christian Academy LIONS will be playing in front of their home fans against the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, Providence Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Ezell-Harding Christian, taking the game 16-9.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last match, Middle Tennessee Christian made sure to put some points up on the board against King's Academy on Friday. Middle Tennessee Christian really took it to King's Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-7 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Middle Tennessee Christian, who have now won five matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middle Tennessee Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yates Geren, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Geren's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Shy Murphy, who rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Providence Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 7-1.
