Norcross took Buford into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 15-9.
Norcross can attribute much of their success to Grayson Taylor, who had nine digs and two aces, and Valentina Casagrande, who had ten digs. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.
Norcross kept the net locked down and finished the game with 14 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Alpharetta made easy work of East Coweta on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-19, 25-15.
Kailey Leonard had a dynamite game for Alpharetta, getting 14 digs and three aces.
Norcross' record now sits at 36-5. As for Alpharetta, their victory was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 34-0.
