Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Lutheran's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Lutheran on Saturday. They took down the Pueblo County Hornets 47-31. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly 16 points.

Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isla Koffmann, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Those 12 points gave Koffmann a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Berkley Schneider, who earned eight points along with ten boards and three blocks.

Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Pueblo County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lutheran will challenge Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Air Academy will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something Lutheran surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pueblo County, they will face off against Pueblo South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo County is facing Pueblo South at the right time seeing as Pueblo South is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
