Basketball Game Preview: Athens Drive Jaguars vs. Broughton Capitals

The Athens Drive Jaguars will head out to take on the Broughton Capitals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Athens Drive was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-39 to Cardinal Gibbons. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Broughton). They walked away with a 66-56 victory over Cardinal Gibbons on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Capitals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Broughton pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Athens Drive, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Things could have been worse for Athens Drive, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-43 loss to Broughton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Athens Drive avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
