After a string of eight wins, Springfield's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 61-49 to the Mineral Ridge Rams. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-60 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Springfield lost, don't look at Jameka Brungard. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 27 points and 16 boards. Brungard has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played.

Mineral Ridge was led to victory by Ava Hulett and Sullivan Sandy. Hulett dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 boards, while Sandy went 6 for 15 en route to 21 points. Kadence Conaway was another key player, putting up seven points.

Springfield's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Mineral Ridge, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-24 victory against Memorial on the 5th. Mineral Ridge has also already played their next contest, a 66-25 win against Champion on the 5th.
