Softball Game Preview: McNeil Mavericks vs. Hutto Hippos

McNeil is 0-5 against Hutto since February of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The McNeil Mavericks will square off against the Hutto Hippos at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

McNeil is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Vista Ridge on Friday. They lost 24-1 to the Rangers.

McNeil saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Gallo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hutto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against McGregor, falling 11-0.

McNeil now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Hutto, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

McNeil might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Hutto in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can McNeil avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
