Salpointe Catholic's Bijan Robinson is Player of the Year after another historic year; Rick Garretson of Chandler is Coach of the Year.

Video: Bijan Robinson - 2019 Highlights
The future Longhorn rushed for over 7,000 yards during his career.

Salpointe Catholic's 5-star running back Bijan Robinson had a special high school football season in 2019.

He rushed for 2,235 yards and 38 touchdowns averaging 17.7 yards per carry. Robinson also had over 300 yards receiving and three touchdowns while leading the Lancers to the semifinals in the Open Division playoffs.

The 2020 Texas commit ended his prep career as the state's all-time leader in total touchdowns with 114. His 7,036 career rushing yards are good for second most in Arizona history only trailing Northwest Christian's (Phoenix) Casey Jahn.

For all that he accomplished, Robinson is the MaxPreps Arizona Player of the Year presented by Suddenlink by Altice.

Rick Garretson had huge shoes to fill as he took over as the head coach for Shaun Aguano who landed a job at Arizona State as the running backs coach. All Garretson did was lead Chandler to an undefeated season and an Open Division state championship. He has been with the program since 2010 and was named the offensive coordinator before the 2016 season.

In his first year as head coach, the Wolves went 13-0 and are currently the No. 12 team in the Top 25 after beating Saguaro (Scottsdale) in the inaugural Arizona Open Division championship game. Garretson is the Coach of the Year.

Threw for 3,369 yards and 33 touchdowns while rushing for over 1,000 yards adding 19 more scores. The Louisville commit should have the same success at the next level as his older brother, Brock Purdy, who helped lead Iowa State to a 7-5 record.

QB — Jack Miller, Chaparral (Scottsdale), 6-4, 210, Sr.
Despite missing some action during his senior season he led Firebirds to Open Division playoffs berth. The future Buckeye ended his career with 9,440 yards passing and 115 touchdowns.

WR — Brenden Rice, Hamilton (Chandler), 6-2, 204, Sr.

TE — Tommy Christakos, Chaparral (Scottsdale), 6-4, 215, Sr.
Was Miller's favorite target and had nearly 1,000 yards receiving and nine touchdowns despite missing some time during his senior year. The future Cal Bear has some of the best hands in the country and should make an impact in the Pac-12.

OL — Tosh Baker, Pinnacle (Phoenix), 6-8, 275, Sr.
The 2020 Notre Dame commit is one of the best offensive linemen in the country. He checks in as the No. 3 overall prospect in the state on 247sports composite rankings and is the No. 7 rated tackle.

OL — Nehemiah Magalei, Chandler, 6-0, 300, Sr.
The four-time defending state champs in Arizona's largest classification had one of the best offensive lines in the state and it all started with Magalei.

The future Oklahoma State Cowboy rounds out the First Team selections in the trenches on offense and is one of most dominant lineman on the West Coast.

AP — Jaydin Young, Centennial (Peoria), 6-0, 175, Sr.
Young is the definition of all-purpose and that's why he makes the First Team at this position. He was a big-time player whether he lined up at running back, wide receiver, in the secondary or on special teams.

K — Parker Lewis, Saguaro (Scottsdale), 6-3, 200, Sr.
The 2020 USC commit has a good chance to make the All-American team. He didn't miss a field goal this season, averaged nearly 50 yards per punt and was a touchback machine on kickoffs.

Ortiz is one of the top prospects from the Class of 2021 on the West Coast. He can line up anywhere in the secondary and finished his junior season with 83 tackles and one interception.

AP — Lathan Ransom, Salpointe Catholic (Tucson), 6-0.5, 193, Sr.
No matter where the future Buckeye lines up he makes plays. He accounted for over 700 total yards and 13 touchdowns and was the leader on defense.

WR — Kyion Grayes, Chandler, 6-1, 170, So.
