Volleyball Recap: Metea Valley Takes a Loss

Metea Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waubonsie Valley Warriors. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Metea Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Metea Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Waubonsie Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metea Valley will square off against Wheaton North at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Falcons have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Waubonsie Valley, they will face off against DeKalb at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
