Baseball Recap: Suwannee Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Suwannee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Maclay Marauders 7-6.

Jace Moran was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Suwannee's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Ty Moses also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The victory got Suwannee back to even at 4-4. As for Maclay, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

When Suwannee and Maclay next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Bulldogs will try to stop Chiles' four-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Suwannee 4, the Timberwolves 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Maclay will take on Trinity Christian Academy and their four-game winning streak at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
