Baseball Recap: California Lutheran Comes Up Short

California Lutheran scored first but ultimately less than Hesperia Christian in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell 6-3 to the Hesperia Christian Patriots. The C-Hawks have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Ethan Ash put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Hesperia Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.

Looking ahead, California Lutheran will challenge Cornerstone Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hesperia Christian, they will take on Academy for Academic Excellence at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
