Baseball Recap: Kimberly Has No Trouble Against Snake River

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Buhl, Kimberly was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Snake River Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Gunner Stringham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, MaCraye Bruning was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Kimberly: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Ethan Maikranz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Kimberly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kimberly has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Snake River, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Kimberly will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wood River at 4:45 p.m. As for Snake River, they will take on Filer at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
