Recap: Birch Run Panthers vs. Frankenmuth Eagles
If The Birch Run Panthers were riding high off their 37-15 takedown of the Swan Valley Vikings last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Birch Run had to suffer through a rough 64-10 loss at the hands of Frankenmuth. Birch Run was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-10.
Jack Rich was his usual excellent self, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 139 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Rich is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Bernthal, who gained 139 total yards and two touchdowns.
Birch Run's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Frankenmuth, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Birch Run does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Frankenmuth will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Kingsford at 1:00 p.m. Kingsford will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
