Baseball Recap: Hickman County Comes Up Short

Hickman County fell victim to Ballard Memorial and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Bombers by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Bombers: they've now lost four in a row.

Hickman County got a massive performance out of Brec Byassee, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Byassee has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-13 otherwise. Witt Carter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Hickman County's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Ballard Memorial, they moved to 6-21 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Ballard Memorial has already played their next game (against Fulton County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hickman County will be paying especially close attention to the Bombers' matchup: after the Bombers face off against Community Christian, they'll take on Hickman County again at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
