Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Thornton's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Thornton extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Clayton Jones. The Thornton Trojans came out on top against the Gateway Olympians by a score of 66-55 on Tuesday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 16 boards. His evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Several Olympians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Seven Carter, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Nickalus Smith, who went 5 of 9 en route to 16 points.

Thornton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Thornton has already played their next game, a 40-35 win against Aurora Central on the 23rd. As for Gateway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-46 victory against Skyview on the 23rd.
