Soccer Game Preview: Fort Mill vs. Nation Ford

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to take on the Nation Ford Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fort Mill fought the good fight in their overtime game against Indian Land on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Nation Ford faced Clover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Nation Ford skirted past Clover 1-0. Nation Ford's winning goal came courtesy of Gavin Hart.

Nation Ford was without their leading scorer, Alec Lindenberg, in Friday's contest. With Lindenberg sitting this one out, Alex Schifano got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 42.9).

Nation Ford's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Fort Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
