Baseball Game Preview: Buffalo Bison vs. Minnetonka Skippers

The Buffalo Bison will challenge the Minnetonka Skippers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Buffalo took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sauk Rapids-Rice with a sharp 12-2 win.

NOLAN MULLENBACH spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on RILEY WEST, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. AIDEN MARCONETT was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Minnetonka beat Edina 7-2 on Wednesday.

Juliam Lunzer looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Garrett Wheeler was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gus Berger, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Buffalo now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Minnetonka, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.

Buffalo couldn't quite get it done against Minnetonka when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 11-8. Can the Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
