Freeport won the last time they faced Lighthouse Private Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Freeport Bulldogs had just enough and edged the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays out 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Freeport got a great performance from Caleb Hoogewerf as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Darrow, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Carson Vogler was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Freeport hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lighthouse Private Christian Academy struck out seven times.

Freeport's record now sits at 2-0. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Freeport will take on Fort Walton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will challenge Milton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
