Football Recap: Agua Dulce Falls Short of Yorktown in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Agua Dulce and Yorktown squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Agua Dulce had to settle for second. They lost 58-34 to the Wildcats. The Longhorns have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Despite the loss, Agua Dulce still got an impressive performance from Aiden Martinez, who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of TDs, and also caught one score. The Longhorns are 6-1 when Martinez posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lane Ranly, who threw for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Brody Metting had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 313 yards and five scores while picking up 14.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 102 yards and one TD for Yorktown. Those 313 rushing yards gave Metting a new career-high. McKenzie Yanta was another key player, rushing for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Agua Dulce's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Yorktown, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

As of now, neither Agua Dulce nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
