Volleyball Recap: Ocean Springs Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Ocean Springs was the 2-0 winner over Hancock when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Greyhounds fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Greyhounds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hawks 25-15 in the first set.

Ocean Springs started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 14-25, 25-18, 25-14, 15-6.

Despite the loss, Ocean Springs still got an impressive performance from River Schmidt, who had 17 digs and four aces. Ryleigh Register also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Ocean Springs' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Hancock, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Ocean Springs will head out on the road to take on Harrison Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hancock, they will square off against Our Lady Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
