Baseball Game Preview: Patterson Tigers vs. Oakdale Mustangs

For the second straight game, Patterson will face off against Oakdale. The Tigers will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Patterson is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Patterson fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Oakdale on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Max Medina put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Patterson's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Medina was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Medina wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jimmy Chagoya, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Patterson now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Oakdale, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
