Recap: Millard West Wildcats vs. Omaha North Vikings

The Millard West Wildcats were the 42-38 winner over the Omaha North Vikings when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Millard West fell 66-58 to Omaha North on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reece Carson, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Carter LaBorde, who scored 14 points.

Omaha North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerri'on Williams, who scored 12 points. Deandre' Harper was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Millard West and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Omaha North, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millard West will take on Lincoln Southwest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lincoln Southwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Omaha North, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Elkhorn South at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th.
