With a playoff win on the line, Gibbs rose to the challenge on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Seminole Warhawks 89-51. The Gladiators are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 18 straight.
Gibbs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oneal Delancy, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 24 points and four steals. Delancy is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last five games he's played. Isaiah Medina was another key player, going 9-for-14 on his way to 21 points and six boards.
Gibbs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
Gibbs' record is now 25-4. As for Seminole, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
Looking ahead, Gibbs will square off against Blake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matchups -- so hopefully Blake likes a good challenge. Seminole does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
