Volleyball Recap: Maddie Asaeli and Bella Scherfenberg Secure Win for Belton

Belton entered their tilt with Ruskin on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Belton was: they took every set by at least 19 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-6, 25-6.

Belton was led to victory by Bella Scherfenberg and Maddie Asaeli. Scherfenberg had five digs and five aces, while Asaeli had 13 assists and two aces. That's the most aces Scherfenberg has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: Belton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ruskin only served one.

Belton's win bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Ruskin, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belton will welcome Raytown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ruskin, they will host Grain Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
