Basketball Recap: Chambers/Wheeler Central Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades came up short against the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels and fell 65-52.

Despite the loss, Chambers/Wheeler Central still got an impressive performance from Michael Jesse, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Kluver, who posted eight points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Chambers/Wheeler Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arcadia/Loup City only pulled down four offensive boards.

Arcadia/Loup City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Jaixen, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Jaixen a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Max Lewandowski, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Arcadia/Loup City, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Chambers/Wheeler Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-58 victory against Fullerton on the 10th. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-36 win against Anselmo-Merna on the 10th.
