Softball Game Preview: Ridge Red Devil vs. Franklin Warriors

Ridge is a perfect 10-0 against Franklin since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Devil will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Ridge's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillsborough on Tuesday. The Red Devil have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin). They blew past Warren Hills Regional 15-1 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on C Gomez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was P Perez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Ridge now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Franklin, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3.

Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Red Devil repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
