Softball Recap: Bloom-Carroll Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bloom-Carroll can now relate to. They came up short against the Dover Crimson Tornadoes on Saturday, falling 13-2. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Madelyn Gates and Raychel Grove did some serious damage despite the final result: Gates got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double, while Grove went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Grove's first of the season.

Bloom-Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 26-4. As for Dover, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-3.

Bloom-Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dover, they will take on Western Brown at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crimson Tornadoes 1.9, the Broncos 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
