Baseball Recap: Pocahontas Comes Up Short

Pocahontas came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Spencer Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Tigers since June 5, 2018.

This is the second loss in a row for Pocahontas and nudges their season record down to 17-7. As for Spencer, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Pocahontas will face off against Southeast Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Spencer, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-3 win against Kuemper on the 27th.
